K&R Bagpiping Enterprises was formed by Rob Simmons and Kate Savidge to play traditional Scottish  bagpipe music and to be a resource for finding bagpipers.

Rob has been playing bagpipes for over 17 years. He is a career firefighter for the City of South Portland, a U.S.Navy veteran, a member of Hiram Masonic Lodge #180 and a member of KORA Shrine Highlanders. He founded and was Pipe Major of a pipe band in Maine. Most recently Rob has been appointed as the Statewide Funeral/Honors Coordinator for the Maine L.A.S.T. team.

 

Kate Savidge has been playing for  five years. After playing as member of a pipe and drum corp. for 2 years she left to concentrate on her private performances. She is a working mother and the spouse of a Falmouth Police Officer. Kate has gained valuable experience playing at numerous weddings, funerals and other events. She is also involved with the Maine L.A.S.T. team.

            Rob and I offer our services as professional bagpipers to assist you and family members by providing quality Scottish music for funerals, memorials or dedications. Additionally, as members of public safety we feel it is important to honor all of those who served the public... This means that:

 For anyone with documented Public Safety service during their lifetime i.e. fire, police, , EMS etc, we will provide a bagpiper for free. If it is a Line of Duty Death, we will do  our best to provide a full band. Due to rising costs we ask for donations to cover fuel expenses.

For active military funerals we will provide a bagpiper for  free and, if the family requests, we will do our best to provide a full band.

We have played for hundreds of weddings, birthdays, parades, funerals and special occasions. Our performances as individuals and groups include national and international venues.

As our business has grown, we have developed the resources to meet all of your Scottish music needs.
